At ease in all types of vehicles, the Michelin Man pilot – the word is not too strong – the “centipede”, this unique DS that was intended for testing truck tires. Its measurements speak for themselves: weighing 9 tons and more than 7 meters long! In the 1970s, the ‘Centipede was used to test HGV and coach tyres at speeds of up to 160 km/h! We can find it at “L’Aventure Michelin” in Clermont-Ferrand where it is preciously preserved.
